Personalized Books

Shakespeare & Co. owns a patented machine that prints and binds paperback books in under five minutes. In order to leverage this technology, they built a personalized book web app. The web app allows customers to personalize a book by inserting their name and replacing the names of characters in the book, drawing customers into their favorite books.

I was responsible for the full stack development of the web app. I built the backend in PHP to construct an interior PDF as well as a cover PDF for the new personalized book and then send it into our Espresso Book Machine® to print and bind it. The front end was built in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JQuery.
